Hunger

Headshot

This play is an attempt and an exercise of sincerity, nothing more and nothing less than that. It was made in six months and not even close to “done”. Nor will it ever be, because the honesty and the satiety are unsustainable.

About the play

This play takes too long. This performance is not a show in the traditional sense of the word. It was not designed to be fun, laughable, to provide catharsis. At least not intentionally. If it succeeds in this, great. This show is not attempting a revolution. It is not a harsh critique of society, it is not designed to change anything. It does not criticize politicians or tycoons, not starlets, even reality shows. It’s not a lot of things. It is only seven actors with the audience sitting around the table and talking. It is an honest conversation about what all of us who were making the play during six painful month, what troubles us, why we cry, why we are unhappy, why we have panic attacks, why we cannot stop shaking, why we are smoking, why we stopped smoking, why we laugh, what are we doing to calm down when we are in pain and something inside tightens, in my chest…

This play is an attempt and an exercise of sincerity, nothing more and nothing less than that. It was made in six months and not even close to “done”. Nor will it ever be, because the honesty and the satiety are unsustainable.
